Kawa Mangrove is Kota Kinabalu’s most famous mangrove tourism route. The beach is also famous for its beautiful sunsets. Visitors can take a day trip through the mangroves, as well as enjoy the sun sinking into the ocean. Kawa Kawa River is the best location for you to spot beautiful fireflies – imagine watching a shimmering Christmas Tree in Sabah!
- 13:30 Meet at hotel lobby, proceed to Kawa Kawa.
- 15:30 Arrive at jetty. Safety, program briefing & light refreshment.
- 16:00 On boat for river cruise along the wetland and mangrove forest reserve to search for the Proboscis Monkeys, long tail macaque monkeys, silver leaf monkeys and others interesting wildlife.
- 17:30 Sunset viewing.
- 18:00 Return to the jetty for a local cultural dinner.
- 19:00 After dinner proceed to Fireflies river cruise. Watch as thousands of fireflies lit up among the trees on the river bank and fly near to the boat.
- 19:30 Transfer back to Kota Kinabalu.
- 21:00 Arrive Kota Kinabalu hotel.
