Pelancongan Taikar Worldmart Sdn Bhd was established in 1989 with our first office in Penang and later expanded to other major cities in Malaysia including Sabah. The branch in Kota Kinabalu, which commenced business on April 1998, consists of 49 personnel running the operation with a fleet of nine 44 seater coaches.
Our main target markets are predominantly the North Asia region and also in recent years, on domestic tourism. In 2006, our company brought in more than 15000 Chinese and Taiwanese tourists into Sabah, which accounts for approximately 20% of total number of arrivals into the State last year.
Our company, jointly with Far Eastern Airlines, has initiated charter flights into Kota Kinabalu from 28 April 2006 onwards and to date has brought in more than 10000 Taiwanese tourists in the last 12 months. This ongoing promotion has significantly increased the arrivals of Taiwanese visitors into Sabah.
Taikar Worldmart is also successfully operating an eco-tourism product called “Garama Explorer”. This tour is very popular among local and international tourists alike, for it provides visitors the opportunity to witness the Proboscis Monkey in its natural habit. In 2006, Garama Explorer had nearly 12000 visitors, a 50% increase from the year before.
Our company’s services include room reservation, ground transfers including vehicle charter, arrangement of all optional tours, and coordination of MICE and incentives group.
We are now expanding into sea related activities and have a 40 feet Catamaran transfering guests to the island.
